Transfer of Luis Suarez to Barcelona

There have been rumors going around about Luis Suarez transferring to FC Barcelona, another great soccer player who was recently accused of biting a player while the match was going on due to stress and anger of losing the match. It was not the first time he did something like this as he has done it twice before but  this time he got banned from all soccer related activities by FIFA for 4 months and was fined £40,000; being accused of racial abuse on the pitch while playing. Regardless of his actions that led people to hate him, he is an outstanding player with amazing striking skills. In fact, he was the only player from his team who scored any and all goals before they got knocked out of World Cup 2014. Luis Suarez's current club, Liverpool, is asking for $120 million for his transfer to FC Barcelona while Luis Suarez himself is demanding around $137 Million for his transfer to FC Barcelona. If the transfer actually goes through, it would be considered the highest transfer fee in the soccer history making Luis Suarez to the highest paid soccer player!

Now the question is, what do you feel about Luis Suarez biting incident ? since it has happened 3 times now, do you think after the transfer he would much likely pull something like that again ?

Partnership Between FC Barcelona and Qatar Airways

There had always been some rumors circling around about Qatar Airways being partners with FC Barcelona for quite a long time now, but there was never a legitimate source quoting so. However, about 2 weeks ago, FC Barcelona posted on their website introducing the new boeing777 airplane painted in Barca colours (Blue and Red, see below for the picture). This airplane was designed and painted exclusively for FC Barcelona; to allow them to travel to other countries for their games while also representing their hometown! This investment’s primary focus was to promote the partnership between FC Barcelona and Qatar Airways as the design displays more than half the length of the airplane being covered with Barca Colours making itok more appealing

Currently, Qatar Airways is flying to a limited number of destinations including Bangkok, Mumbai and Singapore but this number will increase over the coming years.
Fc Barcelona and Qatar logo that you see in the picture was crafted in Dublin where a team hard painted the design to lay the affect of the moving flag on the airplane as the aircraft takes off

Lionel Messi vs C.Ronaldo

C. Ronaldo is an outstanding player who currently plays for the team Real Madrid as their main striker. When you see someone who shows any sort of dislike with ROnaldo, it is safe to assume that you are dealing with a fan of Messi. Anyone who has a strong admiration for one, literally hates the other! Let’s compare their performance by looking at some facts and statistics. In 2013/2014, altogether Ronaldo scored 51 goals through out the year and around 14 assists. In the years preceding that, his number of goals and assists was a lot lower. Now, measuring a player’s performance cannot truly be determined just by looking at how many goals and assists he has had for a specific period of time. Other aspects such as the player’s position, speed, accuracy, sense of dribbling and tackling the ball as well the ability to decide when to pass and when to go solo also need to be taken into account. It’s these little things that helps fans determine which player and which team they want to support. These qualities are not measured in a player but rather observed over the years.

C.Ronaldo (In White), Lionel Messi (In Blue).

Enough about Ronaldo, let’s move of discussing Messi. Lionel Messi had quite the issues as a little kid. He had growth hormone deficiency as he was growing up which prevented him from being able to support his weight on his legs. He was bound to a wheel chair and had the doctor’s convinced that he would never be able to get up and even walk properly, forget running around kicking a ball. But when a person is determined, there is absolutely nothing he cannot achieve and Messi serves as living proof. He overcame his disability and is now known “The Spark”, running even faster than the ball on the field! I cannot lie and say that Messi is better than Ronaldo in every aspect because in terms for goals and assist, Messi’s performance this year has been below Roanldo’s ; 41 goals and 14 assist. But his background has got to count for at least something! However, looking at previous years, he outruns Ronaldo in both the number of goals and assists, ultimately winning more league titles, awards and cups than Ronaldo! Messi, you are indeed the Soccer God!

Personal Opinion about the Club

I have many reasons for supporting and choosing this club other than my obsession with the sport of soccer. I became a fan of this club after being introduced to it by my brothers and several of my friends. They would speak of the club’s greatness all the time and it led to me becoming quite curious. It was my curiosity that led to me beginning my own research about how the club was founded and all other aspects of the club including its players and their performances. After reading the facts and statistics, i became convinced that the club’s fame was not just some hype that would eventually die off, but rather, it was all very well deserved! With excellent players who know how to fill their responsibilities to the fullest and give it their best every time they go out on the field to play, anyone and everyone is bound to get inspired!

This is a picture of the players of the team I am a true and loyal fan of.

Another reason why I support this club is because i am a huge fan, probably the biggest, of one of the players in the club. Lionel Messi or better known as “God of soccer” is a true inspiration! He has a great rivalry with the well known Christiano Ronaldo and his team. I used to be a fan of Ronaldo but now I am a die hard fan of Messi. My love for Messi is not just due to the fame and popularity he has achieved in his career recently for breaking all and every record, but it also has to do with his humble personality. Along side being the epic soccer player that he is, he is also a very down-to-earth guy. I could write paragraph after paragraph praising Messi , my soccer idol but please leave your comments below with which club you support and why.

Going back to how the club came into being

FC Barcelona was founded in 1899 by a person named Gamper who was born in 1877 in Switzerland with some help from Catalans and some young foreigners who were residing in Barcelona, Spain at that time. That was the time Football was gaining its fame and its popularity and along with other British sports all across Europe. FC Barcelona is not just about soccer, rather they have their own basketball team as well. Their multi sport focus and intercultural identity led to gaining the clubs popularity worldwide and have world class players playing for their team today.

FC barcelona came in to existence when the people of Catalan were becoming more concerned and keen in playing sports. Club's founder, Gamper’s (on the left)  motivation and vision was the prime incentive behind the Club's first 25 successful years. He was not just the director or founder; in fact, he himself was a sport enthusiast and loved testing his skills while being an amazing soccer and rugby player. Due to his hard work and dedication to the Club, it is now one of the most renowned Clubs out there!

FC Barcelona played several matches until 1902 since the time it was formed in 1899. 1902 marks a very important year in the upcoming of the club as it is the year when it won its first official title called "The Copa Macaya". The title itself was invented in 1900 by Alfons Macaya, just a little while before Barcelona got their hands on it. In the first few years, FC Barcelona only had 4 playing grounds due the insufficient funds and other financial reasons. These drawbacks prevented the club from becoming any bigger at the time. The location of those 4 grounds are listed below:

  1. 1899-1900 The former cycle track grounds at Bonanova (today, TurĂ³ Park)
  2. 1900-1901 The Hotel Casanovas grounds (today, Hospital de Sant Pau)
  3. 1901-1905 Carretera d’Horta grounds
  4. 1905-1909 Carrer de Muntaner grounds
